Hey, for those of you who missed previous conferences and events, and would like to catch one, come Affirm Gender with me at one of these summer venues. Catch some rays, slow down and celebrate the marvelous gift God has given us in making us man and woman:
June: How to Love Our Loved Ones, Millersville Bible Church, Drumore, PA
For those near Drumore, this special meeting on the evening of June 27 will answer questions about helping relatives and others with sexuality and gender issues. This gathering will provide support, prayer, and practical guidance in applying truth in love to serve, even when it gets difficult. Yes, you should hang in there and we’ll explore how you absolutely can.
For information on attending, contact AffirmingGender directly.
July: The Boardwalk Chapel, Wildwood NJ
Come to the beach! Since 1945, the OPC Presbytery of New Jersey has overseen this mission work right on the boardwalk, gathering mostly college-aged staff, some older, some younger, from all over to serve over the summer. I will be doing a three-afternoon training on July 6, 7, 8, but visitors from the boardwalk are allowed to crash. Check it out: http://boardwalkchapel.org/
August: Deeper Waters Interview w/Nick Peters, online
Nick is an apologist based in Georgia who likes to go in depth on issues. He goes for two hours without, it seems, losing his breath, and pulls no punches with his questions. He is a real thinker. So it should be a helpful talk. (Will be done in late July, probably posted in August)

September: enGendered: God, Gender and Sexuality in the 21st century, Cary/Raleigh NC
Are you in the willowy south, land of peach blossoms? Peace Presbyterian Church is hosting a conference with Rosaria Butterfield and myself speaking on September 30. I will also be having some time with the local pastors in that area on Friday, so if you are a pastor or ministry leader, I am sure that we can get you in on that. I will also be preaching on Sunday morning at Peace and doing a Q&A Sunday school class for them. Bring your hardest gender questions.
Registration is now open: here
And that’s the summer scoop. Also, I’ve scaled back posting on the site to afford more time for ministry to gender strugglers. If these posts have been useful interpretive tools for you, I hope you’ll stay tuned for weekly gender affirmations and contribute your own comments.
Wherever you go this summer, remember to celebrate the precious gift of God’s own image in you. May you rejoice in your soul’s womanliness or your soul’s manhood.
