As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’…If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town. I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.
–Jesus of Nazareth, Matthew 10:7, 14-15
Here (below) was my message (3/29/2009) on how to look at Sodom, explicating Genesis 19, as the Disintegration of Divine Image in people. Now, that disintegration always creates points of cultural conflict which test a believer.
But I was so pleased, as a pastor, to be able to say from the pulpit, “If you have same-sex-attraction, please come here! We’re here to stand with people who want to address that in Christ—that is what we are all about.”
Let us receive the Divine Image in the Christ that saves us. It is not about where you are succeeding. It’s about Who you are receiving.
