Back in April of 2016, my church and I came to the tragic story of the great moral fall of the great King David. Sad as 2Samuel 11-12 is, it allows us to face a big problem in our lives head on. The way the Bible tells us this story, mercifully brief, along with my own experience, shows the lies that we are believing that lead us to succumb to lust of one kind or another. This is the first version of a sermon I would repeat in another church, as it is helpful to call out these falsehoods, that we can handle it, that we deserve a break from righteousness, or that we must have this illicit thing to be happy.
