The Tragedy of Transgenderism, First Take

It may be hard to remember what it was like in September, 2015, when trans was relatively new to most people. The Supreme Court had just, less than 3 months before, declared same-sex marriage to be legal. Trans was not widespread and not at all on peoples’ minds.

 

In this sermon on Deuteronomy 22:5, I was introducing the phenomena to a country church. To our ears, going over the terms used to describe it may seem quaint, since now some of the words are ubiquitous, and other have gone out of style. But back then, when I said that this seeming impossible phenomena was actually going to increase, it was hard to believe.

 

The topic requires definitions. So, in the message I offer a Biblical definition of what a man is, what a woman is. The times have changed, but the definitions haven’t. God still has answers for us where the culture doesn’t.
