Normal Life Not Allowed

“Everything you are used to, once done long enough, starts to seem natural, even though it might not be.”

In February, 2013, the New York State Department of Education’s efforts were underway to restrict churches from renting from schools to meet in on Sundays, a big issue for the live churches (including us) in New York City. With this message, on Judges 10:1-16, I sought to help our people interpret what was going on. So what does this have to do with gender?

Well, the government actions were a synecdoche of the larger cultural push against Christianity at that time, prime evidence of this turn being the surrender of gender distinction in relationship. The school restrictions had no real reasoning behind them. Advocates just did not like what we were preaching.  It was becoming way uncool to believe in gender as a gift of God. Was the larger church complicit?

Being thrown out and rejected is okay when you can step back and see that you are not alone, that you have a Savior who is feeling it right along with you.
