We were finishing up the book of Colossians in Phoenixville in January, 2021. I brought back a sermon I had given at another church six years before, at the cultural moment when the HRC dropped its campaign to remove Chick-fil-A from college campuses. I did this to address the culture’s continuing challenge to traditional understandings of gender. We take up an answer on how to respond from Colossians 4:5-6, a passage exhorting us to snap up opportunities to explain our faith, like we do for bargains in shopping.
The grace that we offer also helps us understand the most important thing about the “Colossian heresy” that scholars talk about.
