It was Gay Pride Day, June 28, 2009, in New York City. Our culture determined the unavoidable topic of the day, going on in a parade right outside our doors.
What if we aren’t oriented toward what God tells us to do? This message starts with that circumstance, but moves onto the attitude we recommended when our culture disagrees with what we preach, bringing the truth of Romans 12:17-21 to bear. Moving in the opposite direction led us to take that day to “stay pride” in ourselves.
Best quote of a person in the sermon: “It’s easier to come out as gay to my Christian friends than to come out as a Christian to my gay friends.” That says a lot.
