A new bestselling book, The Evolution of God, had just came out (July, 2009) and it was making a literary splash (which turned out to be passing). I chose to address it with this exposition of one of God’s attributes from Exodus 34:10-14.
This is not a characteristic of God often discussed, but its analogue is an important component of human intergendered relationship.
Despite the occurrences of abusive jealousy (Othello’s green-eyed monster), the wholesome version needs to be present in our marriages, and to inform our worship, because of God’s passion for His people.
