In 2010, Hanna Rosin wrote an article in The Atlantic: “The End of Men,” outlining how times were changing. The article responded to the U.S. statistics coming out at the time:
- 4% of managerial jobs were held by women.
- 54% of all accountants were women.
- 45% of law firm associates were women.
These represented huge jumps from the previous decade. This was happening, of course, because of what was going on in education. Women were then earning:
- 42% of all MBA’s,
- 50% of all medical and law degrees,
- 60% of all Masters’ Degrees
- 60% of all Bachelors’ Degrees.
Now, Rosin was puzzling how this had not created a feminist nirvana. In fact, it wasn’t faring well for women in relationships. Does the Bible have relevant message here? The sermon (04/03/2011) below says, yes. Because gender is a gift that cultivates dependence. Mentioning the Trinity for the first time as that of which we are an analogy, the message applies the text (Numbers 27:1-11, 36:1-13) to church relationships.
Because gender is a gift for the other gender.
